THE 2024 Grassroots Music

Festival is looking for people who want to fulfil their ambition or fantasy to perform in front of an audience, either as a singer or an instrumentalist, with a live band, or perform solo or with a friend.

The opportunities are endless.

The Festival follows on from three previous events, starting with a private event in 2021. Many guests realised that they would love to sing or perform with the band and in 2022 they got the opportunity. Gathering in the Ellastone Parish Hall and working with skilled musicians and an expert sound engineer several people, ranging from teenagers to children of the 1950s and 1960s, performed a variety of classic folk, blues, jazz and rock music to an appreciative audience.

The Festival received three years funding to help it continue and the 2024 event is now being planned. The planning group is looking for as many people as possible to enjoy this experience.

You do not have to be an expert musician or singer; you must just have the enthusiasm and the urge to fulfil your ambition. If you love singing along to your favourite song, performing with your hairbrush as a microphone or playing your chosen instrument just for the fun of it; this event is for you.

You can even be a backing singer if you do not fancy being in front of the band. This is not karaoke; verybody benefits from very supportive rehearsal time with the band to perfect their performance and experience the thrill of having a live audience.

The Festival will take place on

Saturday 21 September 2024 at Ellastone Parish Hall DE6 2HB. Rehearsals will be arranged before the event.

If you would like to be part of this year’s Festival as a performer, volunteer, sponsor or need more information get in touch.
