THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST

-

Easter is the time when many people celebrate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ but yet the origin of the Easter festivities are not Christian but deeply rooted in Pagan idol worship which originated long before the birth of Jesus. The Pagans worshipped the rising of the sun at the spring equinox and gave out egg gifts as symbols of new life. They worshipped their goddess, originally known in Germany as Ostara but in Saxon times as Eostre and which has subsequently changed to become Easter.

None of this has any connection with the true doctrines of The Bible The Holy Word of God. So what does The Bible teach concerning Jesus Christ? It teaches he was of a mortal nature as all other people, under the sentence of death because of sin. He was though, victorious over sin in himself and went to his cruel death as the perfect sacrifice which God required to make salvation possible. His righteous life, willingly laid down, made atonement for sin possible. God raised him from the grave the third day and later gave him an immortal nature far beyond the reach of sin and death.

At the present time Jesus awaits in heaven the time when God sends him back to redeem certain ones from an eternal grave and he will establish the Kingdom of God upon this earth for them to dwell in. The fulfilling of Bible signs confirm his return is very near but what will his return mean for you?
