Roll on the new Conti

Let’s hope the new Bentley Continental GT (News, 10 May) looks just like your artist’s impression because, let’s face it, unless this was placed next to the Speed 6 concept, I think I’d struggle to tell the difference in terms of looks.

That’s no bad thing, because that concept was a bit of a jaw dropper, improving the existing Continental’s slightly awkward, too-high-and-tooshort-bonnet proportions.

Besides, Bentley seems no clearer on whether the two-seat Speed 6 will ever see production, so giving the new Continental these superb looks is a good move in my book. Let’s hope the interior is also as special as that of the Speed 6 concept. If this all comes to pass, I may even be able to forgive Bentley for the, shall we say, ‘challenging’ styling of the Bentayga.
