VAUXHALL UPS THE ANTE WITH NEW TURBOCHARGED 252BHP INSIGNIA

-

Vauxhall has launched the hottest version yet of the current Insignia: the 252bhp GSI. The car is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 295lb ft. Vauxhall says the car can lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife faster then the previous-generation Insignia’s range-topping VXR model, despite giving away 69bhp.

The improved speed of the car is said to be due to work on the chassis and driving control systems. The Insignia GSI is 160kg lighter than the previous VXR. It has all-wheel drive featuring torque vectoring and an eightspeed automatic gearbox.

Vauxhall will also launch a hot diesel Insignia at a later date.
