NIC CACKETT Just looking at pictures of the Tourer’s boot gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. An Octavia estate might be larger, but the i30 has better applied the ‘simply clever’ strategy its rival boasts about.

SPEC ADVICE

You won’t want for equipment in the Premium SE spec tested, but we’d expect most buyers to be choosing between SE Nav and Premium. Given the kit upgrade contained in the £1500 difference, we’d take the Premium.
