Room for improvement?

Further to your ‘JLR Special Vehicle Operations division versus the aftermarket’ article in the 16 August issue, I’d like to see an aftermarket tuner come up with an alternative replacement tailgate for the new Land Rover Discovery that [design boss] Gerry Mcgovern and his team have, in my opinion, monumentally screwed up.

I can see what they were trying to do – echoing the previous generations with their offset square numberplate – but the latest iteration is simply wrong.

So, I’m sorry, Gerry – you can’t be right all the time. I think you should be flattered that there are companies out there whose businesses and jobs are built around your products. John Penfound Andover
