BMW X5
Well, that went well. On a whim I decided, on a dry, windless Sunday afternoon, to respray the rear section of the X5 that I mentioned in this column last week. Obviously I should use masking tape, plain brown paper and, essentially, a spray booth. Instead I used some old rugs, clear wrap and Sellotape.
However, decades of spraying things badly has paid off. It took a couple of coats to look good enough to pass for decent in a supermarket car park. Mind you, I'm not sure whether it will help if we decide to part-exchange the X5 in a few years’ time...
