THE 911 GT3 RS is the pinnacle of the Porsche range, and the latest Technic kit looks to be the pinnacle of Lego’s line-up, too. The Lego Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS kit offers staggering detail, as it features nearly 3,000 parts, which come together to create a car that not only looks the part, but works as it should, too.

Under the skin, the Technic 911 GT3 RS recreates the steering and suspension of the real car, but the real highlight is the fully functional PDK twin-clutch automatic box, which comes complete with paddles. You can even select Drive and Reverse gears. Under the bonnet is a detailed flat-six engine with working pistons.

Every detail on this model has been considered – all doors and compartments open, and there’s a bespoke suitcase in the front luggage compartment. The brake calipers are painted yellow, and the wheels are perfect recreations of the full-sized car’s alloy rims.

The model even comes with a unique number – like a VIN plate – which sits inside the glove compartment.

Lego says the instruction manual is more like a coffee table book, and the heavyweight read not only gives details on how to build the car, but also includes a history of both Lego Technic and Porsche GT cars.

The 911 GT3 RS will be available from the toy maker’s online store from June, and lands in shops in August.
