IT’S not often practical to carry your bike inside the car, especially if you’re taking it on a family holiday or have more than one cycle to transport. So most motorists are limited to roof, tow ball or tailgate-mounted bike racks. The only problem is, with the bike’s extremities poking out every which way, it’s all too easy to damage your car’s paintwork when attaching bike to rack, or to knock the delicate mechanisms of your bike.
That’s why the new Bopworx range of neat protective devices has been launched. They are designed to mount on to vulnerable or potentially damaging areas of your bike.
There’s a total of five protectors in the Bopworx line-up. The two Bop Bumpers (one single and one double unit) clip to any part of the bike frame to provide targeted protection.
There’s also a Fork Guard for when the front wheel is removed, as well as a rear derailleur guard. In addition, the maker has come up with Bopwrap to protect the frame. This is a tough plastic and soft rubberised padding that covers potential points of contact between bike and car.
Bopworx isn’t just for travel, though. Bopwrap frame protection can be left on permanently, while the rest of the new range is perfect for preventing bikes from picking up scratches, whether they’re being packed away for shipping or simply in storage in a garage.
