SALON Privé is the UK’S premier boutique car show, where some of the rarest classics in the world are displayed alongside exclusive modern supercars. It takes place from 1-3 September, and one lucky reader can win a pair of hospitality tickets for the Saturday, worth £295 each.

DRIVERS love or loathe rain repellents, so Chipex’s new screenwash was never likely to challenge Clarity’s position as our favourite. The Angelwax product doesn’t offer any beading properties, but ticks most of our other boxes. It had the edge on the screen, where it matched the newcomer on the bug but shifted more of the oil that simulated traffic film.
The instructions are comprehensive, stating dilution for all weathers, plus Clarity can be used neat as a de-icer. At the recommended winter concentration it lasted well over two hours in the freezer before icing over. A top performer at a decent price; the only downside is the harsh alcohol smell compared with the gentle citrus aroma of the Chipex.
