YOU should enjoy peace of mind when buying any approved used car, but Mitsubishi goes further than most to make the process as painless as possible. When we carried out a search online, there were over 1,700 cars to choose from, and prices ranged from £2,999 for a Colt hatch to £39,995 for an Evo X.
All cars come with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, MOT protection (which will pay out up to £750 against the cost of repairs) and European breakdown cover. Also included is seven days’ worth of drive away insurance cover, plus you’ll be entitled to a free annual health check for as long as you own the car.
As with most rivals, there’s a 30-day exchange option, but to be eligible your car has to have been off the road and in a Mitsubishi workshop for 14 working days or more with a mechanical or electrical fault.

THERE’S no shortage of choice if you want an approved used Renault, with plenty of Clios, Scenics and Méganes available. We couldn’t find any Twizy EVS for sale, but there was a single Fluence and several ZOES in stock, from £6,299 to £10,990, the latter with just 200 miles.
All approved Renaults come with at least 12 months’ warranty, seven days’ drive-away insurance plus a year’s worth of breakdown cover – you can pay extra to extend the latter if you want to. You also get accident management in the event of a crash, and if a problem crops up that can’t be resolved to your satisfaction, there’s a 30-day exchange option.
When the car is handed over, you’ll also receive the workshop’s paperwork to show that everything has been checked to make sure it’s up to scratch.
