Q Can I reject faulty Golf?
I BOUGHT a used Volkswagen Golf from a garage two days ago. I’ve now found out the front offside shock absorbers are leaking heavily. I wasn’t told about this by the dealer. Do I have a case to reject the car? A YES, the 2015 Consumer Rights Act allows 30 days to reject goods that are of unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described, in return for a full refund. Explain this to your dealer. Alternatively, if you like the car, you can ask the garage to repair it for free.
Celerio inspection needed Q
MY wife’s nine-month-old Suzuki Celerio has done only 2,000 miles, but the bite point is very high. If Suzuki doesn’t agree to fix the issue free of charge, where can I get an independent inspection? I live in Surrey. Martin Haynes, E-mail A A HIGH bite point is not necessarily a sign of a broken clutch, but it can potentially point towards it. However, if a fault exists and Suzuki won’t fix it under warranty, you can visit www.iaea-online.org to find a qualified vehicle assessor in your area.
Q BMW warranty query
I’M looking to fit Nokian winter tyres on my new 320d xdrive. They’re not BMW approved, and my dealer says I’ll invalidate the warranty. Should I be worried about the transfer box? A BMW told us non-approved tyres won’t invalidate the warranty on items like the engine, but in the unlikely event there’s damage to the transfer box, it would have to investigate whether tyres are the cause. This might dictate whether the car’s repaired under warranty.
