Hankook opens new Arctic tyre test site
KOREAN tyre producer Hankook has opened its own winter test facility in Ivalo, northern Finland.
Technotrac has been built next to the Uk-owned Test World site, which Hankook previously used to develop its winter and all-season tyres.
The new facility offers the brand three flat tracks for testing traction, braking plus lateral grip on snow and ice, plus two handling circuits for its exclusive use. Establishing the centre is part of Hankook’s drive to develop its European tyres within Europe.
Use your phone as remote for car stereo
PIONEER has unveiled a new way to interact with its car stereos.
The Advanced Remote Control app (ARC) allows iphones or Android devices to be used as a touchscreen remote for a compatible Pioneer MVH, DEH or FH sound system.
A connection is made via USB cable or Bluetooth, for easier control of complex functions like Internet radio, switching sources and changing equaliser settings.
The free ARC app is compatible with the iphone 4S onwards, or phones running Android 4.1 or later.
