Mclaren’s next hyper GT draws on F1
THIS is our first official look at Mclaren’s upcoming three-seat hyper GT, codenamed BP23, which will become a spiritual successor to the iconic F1.
The teaser sketch gives us a good idea of how the BP23 is taking shape; an elongated, swooping rear end houses an aggressive rear diffuser and thin LED lights. As with every Mclaren, it’s also likely to feature dihedral doors.
Only 106 examples of the BP23 will be produced, and according to Mclaren, all of them have already been sold. First deliveries will take place in 2019.
Described as “the most exquisitely crafted and luxurious roadgoing Mclaren to date”, the BP23 is known to feature a hybrid powertrain that’s likely to comprise a powerful electric motor and the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 seen in the new 720S.
