67. VOLKSWAGEN T-ROC

AS we reveal in our top story on Page 8, Volkswagen will add to its SUV line-up later this year with the T-roc. The new car will sit alongside the Golf and battle the Audi Q2 and SEAT Ateca.

Indeed, the T-roc is likely to mirror much of the Q2’s mechanical make-up, with a range of petrol turbos producing everything from 114bhp to 200bhp-plus. Some will offer cylinder deactivation tech, but for ultimate economy, there will be a 1.6-litre diesel.

Inside, expect a mix of Polo and Golf parts, although the T-roc should get an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen and, on high-end cars, a Wifi hotspot. VW’S digital ‘Active Info Display’ instruments will be optional.
