MCLAREN has taken another quantum leap forward with its latest Super Series model; the 720S. The British brand revealed its 650S replacement at the recent Geneva Motor Show, with arresting looks and a 711bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.

Described by bosses as having “the widest breadth of road and track capability of any Mclaren so far”, the 720S eclipses the Ferrari 488 with 770Nm of torque, a 0-62mph time of 2.9 seconds and a 212mph top speed. Despite that, its official fuel economy figure is an impressive 26.4mpg.

Inside, there’s a step up in technology, with an eight-inch touchscreen and clever TFT ‘Driver Display’ that folds out of the dash to display essential info.
