THE Toyota Yaris is a staple of the supermini class, and later this year the brand will introduce an extensive round of updates for the third-generation Ford Fiesta rival.
There’s a revised look, complete with an Aygostyle front end, as well as different tail-lights and an updated dash, while a bigger 1.5-litre petrol replaces the 1.3, joining the 1.0-litre and hybrid power options.
Toyota has also simplified the Yaris’s trim levels, with Entry, Mid and Mid+ specs, while at the top of the range are the style-driven Bi-tone and Chic models. WHILE the ZS name is a blast from MG’S past, this model has nothing to do with the saloon from the early noughties. The new ZS is a Nissan Juke-rivalling crossover, and it will be the second Suv-style model from the company, following the larger GS.
One highlight will be the inclusion of a new 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This should boost economy and emissions – not a strong point for MG at present – while delivering punchy performance.
