WHEN Smart added electric drive to the previous Fortwo, it transformed a poor city car into a machine you’d actually want to drive. The current model is a far better basis for an EV, while electric propulsion gives the Fortwo added appeal to urban buyers.

As before, the Fortwo Electric Drive is available in coupé and cabrio bodystyles, but the Forfour (above) is also being given the battery-powered treatment, adding even more versatility to the Smart range.
