With heaps of style and plenty of perks, the F-pace is a firm favourite – but how will it measure up to its Mercedes rival?

JAGUAR’S F-pace is one of our favourite cars currently on sale – in fact, it won our coveted Car of the Year trophy in 2016 for its outstanding blend of strengths. It’s great to drive, practical and extremely stylish, too.

Here we’re driving the 3.0 V6 Diesel S AWD model, which starts at £52,665 and, like the Mercedes, uses a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine. It’s got 296bhp, and is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a four-wheel-drive powertrain.
