Sat-nav directions from a familiar voice
VOICE navigation on sat-navs can be dull and monotonous – but navigation app Waze’s latest innovation is set to take the sting out of holiday drives.
In addition to tapping into the growing roster of celebrities available, Waze users can now record their own voice guidance for the app to use.
Head into the app’s settings, and you’ll find an option to record your own voice – or that of a friend or loved one. You will need to record the full suite of Waze’s voice commands, while any additional ones will revert to the standard voice. Waze is available for IOS and Android.
’Vanning extras for free with Subarus
SUBARU hopes to entice caravanners with its latest offer: a Caravanning accessory pack free with any new Subaru Forester or Outback – both of which can tow up to 1,800kg.
The pack normally costs £1,400 and includes a full-sized spare wheel and tyre, plus a fully fitted tow bar, as well as 13-pin electrics to match.
The offer is available to members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, and will apply to all new Foresters and Outbacks ordered by 30 September.
Show is a must for classic US car fans
YOU don’t have to cross the Atlantic to experience the heyday of American motoring. One of the largest US automotive celebrations in the UK, the Cofton Holiday Park’s American Car Show, takes place for the fourth year on the weekend of 30 June-2 July.
The event starts with an evening of rockabilly music, and includes a cavalcade of over 100 classic US cars cruising through Dawlish and Teignmouth, Devon. Show day is on Sunday, when entry to see the 200plus motors on show costs £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. For info, see www.coftonholidays.co.uk.
