Aston ups the ante with racy new Vantage special
ASTON MARTIN has launched a new version of the V8 and V12 Vantage under its new AMR branding. This is an abbreviation of Aston Martin Racing, the name of the marque’s competition outfit established in 2004.
The new Vantage AMR celebrates the brand’s success in GT4, GT3 and GTE racing, and is available with the existing 430bhp V8 or 595bhp V12 engines with either automatic or manual gearboxes.
The limited-edition models feature a special paint scheme, while a Halo Pack brings a Stirling Green finish with lime green accents, based on Aston’s Vantage GTE race car, as well as a Union Jack Aston Martin badge as a no-cost option. The interior combines different types of leather and Alcantara, plus contrasting coloured accents, to complement the various paintjobs.
Carbon fibre seats are available, along with other lightweight carbon details such as the front grille, mirror caps, door pulls and instrument surrounds. A new aero kit adds a carbon fibre front splitter and a fixed rear wing, while a titanium exhaust saves 14kg over the standard system.
Production of the Vantage AMR is limited to 300 cars, with 100 and 200 versions of the V12 and V8 models being built respectively. Coupé and Roadster versions of both will be available when deliveries start later this year, with prices from £97,995.
