Job title tweaks cut cover costs
DRIVERS who amend their job title slightly when applying for motor insurance can save up to £140, according to new research.
Figures compiled by insurance comparison site Gocompare for The Sun show that listing a slightly different job title – such as a builder instead of a construction worker or a manager describing themselves as an office administrator – can bring the cost of cover down significantly.
For example, a music teacher listing themselves simply as a teacher will see their premiums drop on average from £612.92 to £505.99, while chefs who specified themselves as kitchen assistants brought their premiums down by £140, according to the data.
