22. Renault

IT’S a mixed bag of results for Renault this year, as the brand received good feedback in many categories, but couldn’t satisfy owners in all areas to achieve a better score overall.
Renault’s engines, for example, were found to be fuel efficient, with the firm securing 10th place for running costs, but owner feedback showed they lacked refinement and power. It was the same with the exterior, where drivers told us Renault has done a good job with the styling, but fit and finish failed to impress as much, which meant a 20th place in the class.
Practicality was another area where the manufacturer earned praise, but poor scores for interior storage meant Renault couldn’t finish above 10th place for the category. It was the same with the infotainment section, where the maker placed 23rd partly due to a last place ranking for smartphone connectivity. If it sorts out these small criticisms in each class, there’s no saying how far it can climb. It’s clearly doing many things right already.
