THERE isn’t a single area in which Vauxhall does particularly well, nor an area it scores badly in, either.
Owners say the brand’s cars have a good selection of engines that’s refined and quiet, and not too thirsty on fuel, but that there is room for improvement as shown by a 19th place finish in the category. Practicality is another area the company needs to address, as owners marked it down for rear legroom, interior storage and boot space. But new models such as the Grandland X SUV will no doubt improve the scores here in future surveys.
Where the maker does better is in infotainment and electrics. New cars such as the Astra come with the brand’s Onstar concierge system, and although some would have liked a better built-in sat-nav, owners rated Vauxhall 19th in the category.
Inside, most are happy with the fit and finish, but visibility and seat comfort could be improved. And while Vauxhall finished 20th for reliability, not many owners reported faults.
