6. SEAT

A SIXTH place finish for reliability is understated when you consider that SEAT had the lowest share of owners reporting problems to us.
The Spanish firm has always been the sporty brand in the VW Group, and owners agree, scoring the line-up well for handling and ride, as well as acceleration in the engine and gearbox category. It secured second place overall for infotainment, with drivers happy about SEAT’S sat-nav, visibility and the responses of the touchscreen, along with ease of use.
Buyers say exterior styling and fit and finish could be better, while running costs are also something SEAT should look at, after placing seventh. Fuel economy satisfaction wasn’t rated particularly high, and although the cars are cheap to tax and insure, owners say they would like slightly cheaper servicing fees from the main dealers.
Fit and finish in the cabin also needs to be improved if SEAT wants to rise above the 12th place it achieved in the interior and comfort category.
