THIRD in the engine category is a highlight for BMW. Drivers say the brand has a great line-up delivering strong acceleration and refinement, and hooked up to excellent gearboxes.
But running costs could be better, as 18th place shows owners would like better fuel economy, while BMW’S servicing bills are seen to be quite high, too. The brand has done well to beat rivals Audi and Mercedes in the ride and handling category, placing ninth, but it couldn’t quite match Jaguar’s fourth place; its cars trailed slightly on things like driving pleasure.
Owners do find BMW’S infotainment systems better than those of its British rival. The sixth place here is achieved thanks to great feedback in the sat-nav, smartphone and audio categories.
Seventh place for safety is to be expected for a premium firm, while ninth for reliability suggests there aren’t any huge issues being highlighted. A 16th spot for exterior styling indicates BMW could put more emphasis into this area in the future.
