Wash and shampoo
Top buys rated on cleaning power and water beading ability to name our soap star
MUCH like screenwash, picking a car shampoo is a tricky business. The problem is the amount needed, which can have a major effect on price, and how many washes you will get out of a bottle. The soap concentration is the key here and it varies widely.
They are also tricky to separate on performance as, given enough water and a mitt, all will shift grime. To decide the best, we wanted a product that left the least amount of water on the car to be removed with a leather or drying towel.
We washed sectioned-off panels on our car with 10 shampoos and then saw how well each beaded water. We also monitored how much mix was required for a bucket and factored in the cost.
“It easily topped the test on the car. Add in a competitive price and you have a winner”
