THE 3008’s boot offers more space than the SEAT ’s, at 591 litres to 510 litres. The advantage isn’t as great if you fold the rear seats down, but the Peugeot’s maximum 1,670-litre load bay still trumps the Ateca’s 1,604-litre offering.

There’s less glass area in the Peugeot, but it doesn’t feel too claustrophobic. Up front, visibility is good, while the driving position feels sportier than the SEAT ’s more upright stance. The i-cockpit won’t suit all drivers, but the refinement of the concept means it’s now more usable than ever – plus the tech it offers makes living with the car easier, too.

The cabin layout is more cossetting than the Ateca’s upright facia, which means there isn’t quite as much versatile storage, but the Peugeot still features plenty of cubbies in its cabin to store phones and wallets, and a large central cubby that doubles as an armrest. It’s similar to the SEAT.
