Full-size electric SUV also on way
MITSUBISHI also revealed plans to launch a larger SUV with a fully electric drivetrain – shortly after its Nissan Juke-rivalling EV arrives towards the end of the decade.
Vice-president of sales and marketing Guillaume Cartier said that a second electric SUV would “maximise space as much as possible” and could feature a plug-in hybrid option, too. Cartier also confirmed that the next Outlander will use a Renault-nissan Alliance platform, shared with Renault’s five-seat Koleos and Nissan’s seven-seat X-trail. No decision has been made as to whether the Outlander will also come with seven seats, but we expect to see it before 2020.
