WITH the new X-class, Mercedes takes the underpinnings of the Nissan Navara and puts its own spin on the one-tonne pick-up formula. The newcomer drives well, and refinement is impressive for this particular sector. However, the interior finish isn’t as special as you’d expect given the brand’s premium intent, while prices for private buyers are steep.
