Wraps off Mazda’s all-new CX-8 SUV

THE not-for-uk Mazda CX-8 was revealed in full last week at the Tokyo Motor Show. The seven-seat crossover (above) was announced in July, but made its public debut in Japan – ahead of a full launch next year.

Power is from Mazda’s 2.2-litre Skyactiv diesel. This sends 187bhp and 450Nm of torque to the road via a sixspeed auto box and a new 4WD system.

The three-row SUV will go on sale in Japan next month, priced from 3.2m to 4.2m Yen – around £21,500 to £28,000.
