UNLIKE the Nissan X-trail on which it’s based, the Koleos isn’t available with seven seats. Instead Renault has delivered maximum interior space for up to five people, and to good effect.

You can buy a front-wheel-drive Koleos with a 1.6-litre diesel, but we think it’s worth upgrading to the 2.0-litre dci for its extra mid-range pull and standard four-wheel-drive system.
