Continental Wintercontact TS 860
THIS result suggests that using a good winter design all year round is the best solution if you don’t want to change tyres.
The Conti topped the snow tests, and it was the same with the wet disciplines, where it enjoyed a similar narrow margin over the next best all-season contender.
It wasn’t even fazed by the wet tests in warmer temperatures.
However, before you rush out to buy a set of winters for all-year use, remember we are dealing with a remarkable tyre in the TS 860.
Also, look at the dry-weather performance. It took four metres longer to stop than our Michelin winner and almost eight metres more than the Dunlop summer tyre.
