IF a decent amount of space and a high level of standard kit are your priorities, there’s something to be said for the Mitsubishi ASX.

In our preferred 3 trim it has flashy 18-inch alloys, a DAB radio, heated seats and keyless start, although you’ll need to upgrade to 4 specification if you also want four-wheel drive.

Unfortunately, look any deeper and the Mitsubishi is let down by its noisy engine, crashy ride and cheap interior.
