Traf­fic de­lays in UK are worse than ever

TRAF­FIC levels on Bri­tain’s roads have reached an all-time high, with driv­ers fac­ing up to six min­utes of de­lays for ev­ery ve­hi­cle mile trav­elled, new fig­ures from the De­part­ment for Trans­port show.

Mo­torists drove 324 bil­lion miles on UK roads in 2016, up 2.2 per cent on 2015. Driv­ers in the City of Lon­don face the worst de­lays, los­ing six min­utes for ev­ery mile trav­elled, while driv­ers on non-mo­tor­way roads suf­fer 46 sec­onds of de­lays per mile cov­ered.
