Lid lifted on drop-top Continental
THE Bentley Continental range will grow to include several variants over the next few years, and the next to arrive is the drop-top GTC, which we’ve spotted for the first time cold weather testing.
As expected, the GTC looks similar to the GT coupé, with the only significant changes above the window line. This prototype also had its roof stowed away – despite the sub-zero temperatures – revealing a chrome deck line and removable wind deflector sitting above the rear seats.
Like the outgoing GTC, an electric folding fabric roof will feature, although there will be improvements to its insulation to boost refinement. The UK registration plate reveals this car is powered by Bentley’s 626bhp W12 engine; a V8 model and a plug-in hybrid will be introduced at a later date.
