Moving abandoned cars

I LIVE on a farm, and two old cars have been dumped on my land. While they’re not blocking access for me, I’d still like them moved because they’re bound to start leaking oil or petrol eventually. Who can I contact to arrange for them to be moved? Ben Wilson, E-mail

GETTING abandoned cars moved can be tricky because it’s a civil matter, not a criminal one. Your council should be your first port of call, but if you think the cars are leaking fluids, contact the police via the 101 number.

Can I upgrade my ECU?

MY Skoda Yeti has the 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine, which produces 123bhp – but I understand there’s a 148bhp version of this engine as well. Can I upgrade the electronic control unit (ECU) to boost my Yeti’s power? Bob Brace, E-mail

A REMAPPING company should be able to carry out the work, but you’ll have to tell your insurance company if you do this – and it’s worth getting some insurance quotes before having the job done. If your Yeti is still within warranty, an ECU upgrade is likely to void this.
