FORD RANGER
SYNC3 Standard Key features: Smartphone connectivity
THE Ford’s SYNC3 infotainment system is the largest here, at eight inches, and it’s also the best to use. It has a bright interface that’s easy to see while on the move, especially with that big screen, and the standard Android Auto and Apple Carplay functionality is a big plus.
The built-in sat-nav is a lot more intuitive than the Mitsubishi’s system in particular, but the fact that you can use your smartphone interface instead without paying for that functionality is a bonus.
Steering wheel controls and a standard six-speaker stereo are a match for its rivals as well, plus there’s a reversing camera. You also get parking sensors as standard, for which you have to pay extra on both the Mitsubishi and the Volkswagen. There are USB and aux connections for your music, too, while all three models can be hooked up to an ipod or media device.
Voice control is standard on the system as well; this lets you control various functions without distraction.
