UK breathalyser specialist Alcodigital has added a new device to its range, and it has the same sensor as those used by the police. The Alcotest 3820 is made by German firm Draeger and features the same 244mm large-scale sensor as in Home Office-approved police breathalysers.

Designed for morning-after tests, the original 3820 was launched early last year, but this version comes with English settings and instructions. The compact unit has a reusable mouthpiece designed to ensure there is no residual alcohol in the sample. Plus, it only needs recalibrating every two years – that’s twice as long as most consumer devices.
