Keeping hood mould at bay I LOVE my cabriolet, but have ended up with mould on the hood after parking under lime trees. Which products do you recommend to remove this and prevent it from returning? Jonathan Stevenson, E-mail

AUTOGLYM won our 2015 test of these treatments, but its product is now called the Convertible Soft Top Clean & Protect Complete Kit. It comprises a cleaner and a proofer that leaves a water-repellent finish. Regular washing to prevent the build-up of deposits and retreating should keep the mould at bay.

Must I change all four tyres? MY garage says I need to change four tyres on my xdrive BMW even though it is only the fronts that need replacing. Staff say it is to do with the 4WD system. Are they right? James Willis, E-mail

ALL BMWS with xdrive and some other 4WD models have this problem because the system can’t cope with more than a 2mm difference in tread depth between front and rear. Replace all four tyres then make sure you swap front to back on the same side after a few thousand miles to even up wear.
