HIGH-END child car seat maker Cybex has added four new models to its line-up. Dubbed S-line, the brand’s latest seats and carriers promise improved safety and convenience.

The Pallas S-fix and Solution S-fix are designed to be smaller to take up less room in the car, but still offer the child more space. Both are Isofix-compatible.

The Pallas (£260) is suitable for children weighing 9kg to 36kg or aged nine months to 12 years old, and has an impact shield that can be adjusted one-handed. Cybex claims the shield reduces the risk of neck injuries.

There’s also a reclining headrest to stop the child’s head tipping forward when asleep, plus Cybex’s new linear side-impact protection system (LSP), which the company says reduces forces by 25 per cent in a collision.

The Solution (£160) caters for 15kg to 36kg youngsters aged three to 12 years and features the side-impact protection and reclining headrest, too. It also has a ventilation system, plus 12 heightadjustment positions, which adapt the seat to the child as he or she grows.

The other two seats are built to the relatively new i-size regulations, so they are ISOFIX only. The Cloud S i-size (£195) is designed for children up to 18 months old and has three travel positions.

Cybex says the Sirona S (£365) is the first i-size seat that rotates, making it easy to place the child before turning the seat into position; rear or forward-facing. This design also includes energy-reduction tech to limit the strain on the neck in a collision.

It is also designed to prevent a parent switching too early to forwardfacing. The child should be at least 16 months old or 76cm tall before changing.
