French flier continues a performance car legacy that started with the original eighties 205 GTI

THE Peugeot 208 GTI by Peugeot Sport is arguably the closest hot hatch in concept to the Yaris GRMN. Just 4bhp separates their power outputs, while both use a six-speed manual transmission, a Torsen limited-slip differential to put that power to the road, and a more focused chassis tuned by their respective makers’ in-house experts to control wheel and body movements and enhance the handling.

There’s also a similar level of usability, although these two takes on the hot hatch recipe use different ingredients under the bonnet. One other detail definitely separates them, though: price. So are you better saving some cash and going for the 208 GTI?
