Pavement parking may become illegal

PARKING on the pavement could soon net you a £70 fine, following news that the Department for Transport (DFT) is considering a review of current legislation.

Although Londoners are already penalised for parking their cars on pavements, drivers in the rest of the country can still do so.

Responding to a parliamentary question on pavement parking, transport minister Jesse Norman said the subject is under review.
