Bus lane fines on rise, now at £68m

-

MORE than one million bus lane fines were handed out to drivers last year, new research has found.

The RAC says 1.13 million motorists were penalised for using bus lanes in 2017; that’s a rise of five per cent from 2015.

It’s estimated the fines add up to at least £68million, the RAC claims. Drivers in London picked up the most, with 994,000 tickets issued. Motorists in Manchester and Glasgow were second and third.
