208 GTI by Peugeot Sport gets big four-piston brake calipers clamping 323mm discs. Sticky tyres and upgraded brakes meant both cars stopped well, although 208 lagged behind the Yaris.

ENGINE

The 205bhp 1.6 turbo has a different character to the Yaris’s supercharged 1.8. It ensures the 208 isn’t as sharp to respond, but on boost it pulls harder, giving the car a performance advantage.
