All-new Supra spied on UK roads
TOYOTA is applying the finishing touches to the all-new Supra, and prototypes have now been spotted testing in the UK for the first time.
The car will make a camouflaged dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week, before the covers finally come off in 2019.
Caught on camera by reader Johnny Daly in Leyton, East London, the righthand-drive Supra is likely to have been on the UK leg of its global development testing cycle to ensure the car is set up appropriately for each market.
We already have a good idea of what to expect from the Porsche 718 Cayman rival; the star of the 2018 Geneva Motor Show was the GR Supra Racing Concept (right), a race-inspired coupé that points towards the new Supra. The production model will become the fifth generation ation of Toyota’s flagship sports car.
It is being developed by the firm’s irm’s Gazoo Racing performance division, ion, but in partnership with the new BMW Z4. The Supra will be powered by a straight-six engine with up to 330bhp. 0bhp.
