‘Next R8’ set to star at Monterey
AUDI is readying an all-new concept for the 2018 Monterey Car Week, and it will be revealed on 23 August on California’s Laguna Seca racing circuit.
Named PB18 e-tron, Audi’s latest creation is an EV supercar concept. It’s just a design study for now, but rumours suggest the car may preview the nextgeneration R8, which is tipped to use electric power when it arrives in 2022.
The single teaser image shows the PB18 will get a low, wide stance, while it looks like it’ll feature side-mounted cameras instead of wing mirrors, too.
No technical specifications have yet been revealed, but Audi says that some of the tech is spun off from its Le Manswinning hybrid R18 e-tron LMP1 car.
