Peugeot 5008

AFTER a couple of poor experiences with wayward sat-nav directions in previous test cars, art director Darren Wilson has been pleasantly surprised with our Peugeot 5008’s system.

During a recent long weekend away in Suffolk, the navigation system suggested an unusual diversion, apparently way off the beaten track. Despite his reservations, Darren went with the chosen route, and was delighted when 10 minutes later the Peugeot crossed a narrow bridge over a jammed A12 (his original route). The re-route saved around 20 minutes, while the clear screen icons also warned of upcoming speed cameras, variable speed limits, traffic hotspots and petrol stations.

However, the audible traffic camera warning is driving Darren mad. With no obvious way of turning it off, a read of the manual is needed, and soon.
