Avon ZT7
A QUIETER, more economical drive was the aim for Avon’s latest tyre. The ZT7 replaces the ZT5 and claims to cut road noise and be more frugal, while retaining sporty handling.
Avon says it’s the brand’s quietest tyre yet, with a 69db EU label rating which is for pass-by noise, although there is no direct link to sound levels in the cabin. In addition the tread has noise damping fins to reduce the sound from air being compressed on the road as the tyre rolls.
The high-definition silica compound helped earn the ZT7 a B wet grip rating, while fuel economy ratings are B, C and E depending on size. There are 26 sizes in the new range, available in 14 and 15-inch diameters.
