SLOT car fans are in for a bumper year, because Scalextric has revealed more than 50 products it plans to launch during 2020.

For historic motorsport lovers there will be the unique Tyrrell P34 six-wheeler Formula One racer. This is available in a £85.99 twin pack, which features both cars that ran in the 1976 Swedish Grand Prix.

Gulf-liveried Le Mans 24 Hours racers will be celebrated in another multi-car pack that features a McLaren F1, Ford GT40 and Aston Martin DBR9, at £129.99. There’s also a Jägermeister BMW M3 touring car twin pack.

Still with the classic theme, the grey Lotus Cortina raced by touring car star Andrew Jordan, and TV presenter Drew Pritchard’s VW Beetle, which competed at Goodwood, will also be offered. Ford fans will also appreciate the Ford Capri Mk3 in Fabergé livery.

For those who like a film or TV link, Del Boy’s Reliant and Mk3 Capri from Only Fools and Horses will join the line up in a twin pack. To mark the 35th anniversary of the first Back to Future film, slot car lovers will be able to race their very own DeLorean, complete with working flux capacitor light and removable lightning rod conductor.

James Bond aficionados will be able to drive the ubiquitous Aston Martin DB5 and the V8 Vantage, which makes its comeback in the forthcoming movie, No Time To Die.

There will also be a £149.99 Batman set using the latest Spark Plug technology, which can be controlled by a smartphone app.
